Houston Continuing To Grow And Expand

Texas is home to some of the leading cities in the South. This includes its capital, Austin, along with Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston. The latter is considered the largest city in the Lone Star State with a population of well over 4 million residents. Known as the Space City, this metropolis offers big city amenities with down home Southern casual living.

While one of the benefiters of the huge oil boom in the 70s and 80s, the Space City has so many industries and sectors. This includes retail, hospitality, dining, sports, technology and especially health and medical. In fact, the city is home to the largest medical center in the country with scores of specialists and physicians in every practice.

One of the main reasons why people keep flooding to H Town is its cost of living. Compared to other cities, the Space City has a lower cost of living and is generally convenient. While you do need a car to get around, the citys Metro bus service can take you literally anywhere in town. There are also shuttle services and park and ride locations, which offer transport to Uptown, the Galleria, and so many popular and known spots in the city.

The Space City is also home to NASA and the Johnson Space Center. These venues are a short drive way in Clear Lake, which is also known for its nautical and aquatic activities. However, the main aquariums and Moody Gardens are located in Galveston. The latter, of course, is a haven for tourists and features plenty of hotels, motels, restaurants and entertainment venues.

H Town continues to grow and expand at alarming rates. In fact, it consistently challenges Chicago as the third largest city behind Los Angeles and New York. From new high rises and apartment complexes to condos and malls, this city truly offers something for everyone. It is also very diverse with plenty of international restaurants and cultural heritage events each year.
